    Default Advice?

Okay I am new to the jet boat world. I bought two jet boats (well sorta) and need some advice. First I bought a 1986 Cimmarron open bow 18ft that is just the hull and the Berkley jet. Well the front seats are there but in very bad shape. My intent was to buy a engine and build that one. I ran across a 1974 18ft Tahiti with a 460 and a Panther jet in it. It runs okay but I have an issue or two that hopefully the MSD that arrives tomorrow will fix. My dilemma is, do I use the Tahiti until I get the interior built in the Cimmarron and then swap the 460 over, or do I part out the Cimmarron and just restore the Tahiti, or do I build/buy a engine for the Cimmarron and then decide which one to sell? They both need carpet, both need back seats and engine covers. The Cimmarron need front seats also and a engine

Depends if you enjoy wrenching or boating more, some people like to tinker and modify and others just want a running reliable boat for the lake. Prioritize if you'd rather spend more time in the shop or on the water right now and go from there.

If it were me I would probably use the Tahiti until the resto on the newer boat is complete and then sell the Tahiti. Are you looking for a fast hot rod, or just a nice lake cruiser?

Just a reliable lake cruiser to wakeboard and ski behind. I do have a need for speed also. That's why I am having this dilemma!

The newer boat (and bowrider) seems like a better fit for your needs. I'd sell the Tahiti and buy a fuel injected crate motor for the Cimmaron, bolt it in there with a fresh pump and go enjoy the lake
