    Default Considering a jet boat

Lately I've been considering getting a jet boat. We have a house in Needles and I want a boat I can cruise to Topac, Avi or Laughlin. We have a blown injected flatty but it has a six gallon tank and doesn't cruise very well. We also have a wakeboard boat and a pontoon boat, both of which cause minimal adrenaline release!!! So lately I've been thanking a little four seat jet boat would be perfect. We have a brand new 540 long block that we could run as mild blower deal, or possibly naturally aspirated.

What do you guys think? What would be a good boat that would run 80+ with 700hp? I'd really prefer a little project that I could get into with minimal investment. Or someone that wants to trade me for my project 65 Nova.

    Thanks, Ian

Get a jet!!!! Not really sure about suggestions on which kind to get, but the other guys on here will be able to answer that part. I personally like my Hawaiian, but it's not really a drag boat, it's small and strong, and with a big enough motor it would probably fly. Remember, Get a JET!!!!

I think before anyone can make any suggestions you should decide on a budget. With 700 hp its possible to get a 21 foot boat in the 80's. Lots more comfy than a small 4 seater and can do the laughlin to topoc thing a lot easier. I just upgraded form a small 2 seater to a 21 last summer and Im diggin it.

Here is a pic of the flatty. I don't have any pics of the Nova but it is just a rolling shell at this point. I bought it about six months ago because it was straight with no rust, which is hard to find anymore. If anyone is interested I'll post up some more specifics.

I'm flexible with my budget, but would love a little fixer upper for a couple grand. As you can see I don't need a drag boat, or a family boat. Just a little something to blast down to Topoc in during the middle of the week.

It even matches your other boat.

Looks like a nice boat. How are floors and stringer? I'm not too familiar with Jets, what else would I need to get it running?

I'll be in Havi April 23-27 can I see it then?
