    Default Well crap....

Got all the bits and pieces yesterday to complete the exhaust swap. Spent a little bit of time installing the flappers in the 4" tips, and finally mounted them into the transom. Installed the 3" to 4" bellow adapter on the tips and grabbed the new 3" soft wall hose I had ordered and tried connecting the snails to the tips and the angle is just to great for the hose to flex I really though the soft wall stuff would have more give than it does.

Not really sure what I am going to do now, thinking of taking it to a custom exhaust shop and seeing if they can bend a piece of 3" pipe to fit between the snail and tip, and then use pieces of that 3" soft wall hose to connect them together.

    Any ideas?

    Default Sometimes

You may have to buy/make an adapter that will flange onto the snails and turn down a bit. Want to keep that flex hose straight if possible. I had to cut off the end and weld a short section of 4" tubing onto my thru hull bassetts to drop down a few degrees so I could use some existing holes in my transom for my tips.

Are you saying that the geometry is off even if you manage to connect it? If it looks like it does line up - You can bend the hell out of that rubber exhaust. If you push or pull on it hard it will collapse and then it bends easier, don't worry about hurting it, it will open back to it's original shape. Begin with it hooked to the transom tips, then jack-knife fold it onto the riser.

Just got off the phone with a local exhaust shop that does lots of custom work (they did the whole exhaust on my BMW) and I am going to take the boat up there Friday morning to have them make an S pipe for me.

Need pics. to see what your problem is!
Short pieces of the hose are hard to get on! I had to remove the tips on my Taylor to get the hose to connect! Then reinstall the tips!

I didn't have 3"risers going to 4"tips so the adapter is taking up hose length thus causing no hose bendy! WT

SOMEONE SAID YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU! SO,IM BURNING IT UP ONE GALLON AT A TIME!

I swapped out a set of logs for some TT Bassetts for a friend of mine and had to do em the same way.

    Flex my ass.

P.S. I was not responsible for the cable routing.

Again..........not responsible for cable routing. The friend that owned it didn't do it either. He bought it that way.

Damned shame. Rogers 19 Bonneville. Went through and fixed a bunch of little things for him (he's not mechanical). It wasn't perfect and still needed some cosmetic work, but it ran great. He ran it for a year and then it's sat uncovered in his back yard for 10+ years. Completely ruined it.
