On the boat ID tag, says model# 18 STB.

Had it for a while, but want to tear it down and restore it over the winter and want to get any info to help.

its a panther .... but has been rebuild and runs better than normal. Thinking of replacing, but it runs strong. Depends on how much i want to spend. Wife wants a more family friendly boat, so I may buy some cuddy cabin thing for that. Which would mean make do with what i have on this one.

send some pics if you can. I'm getting ready to rebuild my 76 18' tahiti. i've been curious about the hull type myself. I'm pretty new myself but have already found a lot of help. scour the site for threads that might be relevant. I've found tons of useful info. welcome!

It stands for Shit Turd of a Boat......

Just kidding. I have 3 Tahitis and a Hawaiian. I love them all. Great boats and fun. Shame that they are made of garbage....

That is my boat. That old photo looks just like my boat did a few years back. Right down to the tuck& roll apholstery. I guess that paints scheme was pretty standard. My original paint was two tone metalic rootbeer. I've always hated the color ever since i was a little kid. Thanks for posting it.

Another dumb question...mine has the tank in the front, not on the sides like this ad says. Did they make both styles or did someone have to mod it that way?
