    Default impeller turning

I need to get my R's up. What's a good ballpark figure for how much it would cost to turn my SS B+ down to a B? MPD did the pump, and if it wasn't Sunday I'd just call Jack.

I would charge $40.00 for that small of a change. $60.00 for a big change and touch up to leading edges. Were in Phoenix,AZ. TIMINATOR

You certainly need to talk to Jack. The split might just be 200 rpm maybe less. How much are you looking for ?

man, jmo, but if your cutting a ss impeller, why don't ya try to throw more power at it? its a lot harder to put it back on than cut off, and that's a nice part! I would get it, if it was an aluminum but......hey what ever ya need to do.

I'd like to spin my engine to 6000rpm. My 650 or so horses are only getting it to 5400 or so. When I had Jack build my pump I was planning on running nitrous part time. I asked him to set it up with this in mind.
I've since shined the nitrous idea and pulled the plate, solenoids, bottle, etc out. I don't want the hassle, expense, or potential consequences of squeezing it at this time. I'm perfectly happy to just run it on the motor.
I definetly need to talk to Jack. He's the guy I'd have do the work in any case. I was just curious what a ballpark figure would be so I know whether or not to even call him at this point. I'm in construction (sometimes), and money's tight these days. You know how it is.

Hey 75, is there a reason you are not gonna try the ''bowl shim" from the Topless guys? I had my SS A cut to AB and results couldnt have been bettter. I think I probably make around the same 650hp or so as well. So I am definitely curious about the B cut but would hate to take that step without borrowing a B or trying the shim.

The shim idea is definetely an interesting one from multiple standpoints. Not the least of which is the simple ease of removing bowl, add spacer, replace bowl----done. I'm gonna ask Jack about that as well. If all I've gotta do is install the spacer and cut/drill a new rideplate I'll definetely go the spacer route.
But if Jack doesn't think a spacer is the way to go I have no problem cutting my impeller down. My motor makes only so much power....I'm cool with that. And I simply don't want the hassles or expense of constantly filling up nitrous bottles. With a few changes I should see 90+ and that's good enough for me.

Wow, that's very impressive. Care to share any of the specifics of your setup? Shoe type and depth, loader type, droop, mini droop, snoot, etc? What kinda intake psi readings are you getting?

Shoe is dead even with keel. Loader is a second go around Eddie gave me to test out, defintely not custom. I cut the ramps roughly an 1/8inch above keel. SSab with some type of special cut Eddie added on the tall part of the Imp. Stuffer from someone. Knive edged the bowl veins myself. Droop like everyone sells. setback pump. 78 Kachina, 466, solid roller, two 650's, 12-1. close to 30psi on the low side, close to 20 on the high side. Gets outta the hole like a shotgun.

Flat shoe, backcut, tapered? I'm currently running a 2* backcut....thinking about having a 3* made & giving that a shot.

I only put one tap (@ 3oclock) and it shows 29-30psi at WOT. This is with the shoe .125" up. Next time out I'll drop it down .060" or .080".
