I will make a call, I know there is going to be better clarification in next years rule book, I was told at opener to have a loop and it would be good. wouldnt see why it would change. If your transom / back deck covers driveline you do not need a cover or loop.

they are just trying to keep driveline from flying out and hitting starting barge or another boat. if your running a shaft you do not need cover or loop, only if you have a driveline

Mike, please ask what the loop is to made of. Most of us utilize the aluminum pump brace as the lower portion of the loop and bolt an aluminum strap over the top. Aluminum hoop over the top should be fine, we are all running 1350 drivelines. They are bulletproof and there have been zero failures from our club.

I have sent in Photos to Lucas tech It does say in rule book aluminum is suitable material for loop.

out here in BFE.... drivelines more than 14" need two hoops, one at each end, made of approved materials. Or a driveline cover made of approved materials. Either way, 360 degree protection is required with one inch max clearance.

I know you didnt make the rules in BFE but what good does the hoop do on the engine side? If it breaks a U-joint on the engine side the pump quits turning and the engine no longer has a drivline connected to it.

    Default other items?

I was told that they eased up on the driveline rule? If not I have a nice piece of stainless at MPD for you guys. 1/8" x 5" tube to make a 360 degree driveline cover.NJBA guys may also need other items: ear buds, safety chains on trailer (even dolly)battery diconnect switch, bilge pump, bow eye hook location on tunnels, throttle springs, fire ext, correct year of helmit....Maybe Mike can check on these items also. Good luck NJBA guys and have fun.
