    Default 25' Tahiti

Decent shape visually, it has a panther jet but this big of a boat. With a jet? 454 is the motor now and it looks clean. What would you pay he is asking for 4500.00

Not gonna lie I would like to have a boat that's big enough for Powell and still accelerate well and see 60 to 70mph. From what I've heard to get those speeds out of a jet boat is going to require 700hp with this size boat and that Panther jet is basically just plugging the whole where I will need to put a bigger more expensive one.

Don't be so quick to ditch the Panther...a friend had a larger 23' boat and it moved it along quite well.
For a very short time I owned a 1979 27' SleekCraft Ambassador...460 with a Jacuzzi did all of 50 mph.

What do you think about the Boat? And with a 454 say I run pistons, cam, port and polish on the heads balance the shaft +/- .5 maybe flat top for pistons just some aluminum jobs...What kind of pain will it take to get that boat up to 60mph? And will it be dog slow getting there?

I'm not going to lie I saw some of the pictures from the original and lol talk about a shaggin waggin I couldn't stop laughing... just imagining the sweat band some tan/yellow tank top white shorts that are just rudely short like you could only get away with in 1978... Oh ya TESTOSTERONE!! but will it actually be fun to drive

I think the Panther could easily move that boat to 60+ with the right HP infront of it, and of course making sure the pump is tight.

Asking price of $4,500 you say. To me $4,500 means $4,000 and I would consider his asking number. NO used boat is "excellent" > and I'm sure you could point a dozen fingers at that one. Heck, use the Panther as being the downfall
Depending on how 'right' the package is and what you want to spend is the question.
Put $3,000 on the table > > > remember, you can always come up but, once there you can't go back down.

The dude wanted $4,200 for his Sleek Craft > I got it for $1,800

Another dude wanted $12,500 for his 21' Daytona > > > think I took it off his hands (unwater tested) for either $5,000 or $,7000 I honestly don't remember.

Cool boat. Personally I think that asking price is high. There just is not a big demand for 25' jet boats. It would be cool to see another 25' jet boat on the boards. I picked up my 25' Ambassador for $800. It was in a lot worse shape though. Check my sig.

I have no clue. Haven't GPS'd it. I doubt I will get a chance to this year. it has probably seen it's last trip to the lake until spring. If I do get it back out I'll GPS it though.

I'd bet 45 is probably about what my boat does. It ain't no speed demon for sure. There was a big cabin cruiser jet with a stock 454 at Lavon this Wednesday. He said he hit 50 in it. It has a stock 454. I think it is a 23 footer though. It is a big ass boat. Wish I had a picture. It's not what you think when you hear 23' jet. It's much more like a traditional cuddy cabin. It even has a little wet bar.

    EDIT: Found a pic.
