    Default BB CHEVY intake question

okay im running a torker 2 intake on my 496 stroker at this time while breaking in the motor, but thinking about going to a merlin, dart, Vic 2...but why do I see only 6 holes on each side of the manifolds to bolt down. on all the pics I have looked at.....shouldnt there be 8 ???

You will notice that on alot of performance intakes, even some of the other edelbrock models, will only have six bolts perside rather than eight that the stock intakes have. I have never had a problem sealing with them sealing. In fact, and I am sure that someone with a lil more knowledege will chime in if I am wrong, but alot of the aftermarket heads do not have this hole drilled and tapped so that it will not cause problems later when/if someone decides to do some crazy port work on them.

I know my brodix heads were missing a hole or 2 as compared to stock. It sure threw a kink or 2 when it came time to bolt my ski pylon up.

I am running Victor 2 on my 468 and it does not have the holes between the intake ports like the stock manifolds do and I have had no problems with mine I did use gaskets that are designed for this hole pattern though since the ports in the gaskets match the ports in the heads
