We have scheduled our SAFE BOATING course on December 18th 2010. This is a course put on by the Ada County Sherriff's office in conjuntion with the State Parks and Rec. The meeting will also be attended by the Corp of Engineers who own Lucky Peak.
This is a great oppurtunity for us to develop the relationship with the folks that run the lake. When we leave this course we will have a card showing we have taken and completed the course, but more then that, it shows LE that we are willing to set at the table and learn what they expect from us. This course is being pushed as mandatory in most states. Lawmakers are asking this be part of registering a boat. Please don't blow this valuable oppurtunity. You must let me know if you plan on attending. I will post start times in the next week...We have something very special and I want to hold on to it...
Talked to officer Rob Fowler this morning and we picked 9 am for a start time..It will be held at the Ada County Sheriffs Office. The address is 7200 Barrister St. in Boise. He said they won't be looking for any open warrants so Applegate shoud be fine. For those of us who have been arrested at one time or another, I'm sure your familiar with the location..I personally have it on my GPS.
For those coming from out of town..the location is very close to the Mall.
When you get there it will be where the American flag flys..before you go up the steps and to the right..
In talking with him he was very encouraging about young adults attending. He said if they get below Middle School it would be hard to keep their attention. But he was stoked to hear the fathers would be bringing upcoming adults.
Remember this is free to us..the only thing they ask is that whatever drinks we bring in have to have a lid...I guess the Sheriff is really proud of the room we are having it in...
