    Default Pre impeller

How or when does a person know when to put one on?
Does it just help with the hole shot?
Do you go down on a cut size to make up something?
Just would like to know if it is worth the money or not and the pros and cons.

    Thanks Troy

heres an example of an inducer; i`ve got two ten second and an 11 second boat. two of them have inducers. if you lived closer and would do the labor, you could have them both. build your pump with the correct tolerances and save the money.

I run the boat on the river most of the time play and race. If I can get the boat to be competitive, I like to join the Upper Midwest Power Boat club.

The boat runs well but had problems with pump failure to really test and tune.

Off topic..but why not run a catch can or puke tank instead of letting the oil dump into the water from your breathers?

I always thought that pre impellers were more for white water and chop to keep the pump loaded.

That was at the end of the summer. Puke tank is on now and there was no oil that went in the water in the short time I had it out.

If you have had your impeller detailed or race prepped by someone who knows what they are doing and you have the correct loader in your boat for the application, and your engine still revs like a clutch slipping on take off and then settles back down; you would probably benifit from a pre impeller.
