delco p# pf454 is the short high volume gm filter, you can cross it to a k&n or wix from there

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

Wow! I can believe you used the words hi volume when talking about that POS. High volume compared to what, using a fuel filter? No matter what brand you use, that short POS couldn't keep up with a BBC with even the tightest clearances. What ever you do, don't remove your bypass.

notice i said cross it to a wix or k&n gm produced the newest pf454 and pf1218 to fix a oil gallery volume filling issue they had back in the early 90's on trucks with oe oilcoolers and higher volume oil pumps that accompanied them, and for the average joe jetter that dont spin above 6k the filters are fine. i was jus giving the guy a p# to cross, but again you have to be a dickhead bout it.

Yeah I know. But even a K&N or a Wix is dubious at best. I would avoid that Smart car filter. I think I would try and squeeze a Mobil 1 302 in there. The K&N and the WIX are great filters, but if I absolutely had to run the pint size POS, I would run a Mobil M1 202. And again, don't even think about removing the bypass. Damn I hate that filter. There is nothing in my boat I couldn't remove or fix or delete, that would make me run that POS

We carry Moroso Racing filters, they are 5.25" tall. Never had a problem with them.

I think he is in need of something shorter than that. I am guessing he doesn't have that kind of room. The PF454(PF25) is only about 3.3 maybe 3.5 long. If he has 5.25" of room, he could run the PF35L or the PF1218

Did Delco stop selling the "L" series filters. Or only don't make them in a PF45 number. I liked those filters.
