    Default Steering cable replacement

My cable is a teleflex ssc13414.
The black insulation measures 11 1/2'.

Ordering online is a little confusing as to how to measure the thing.
Is this a 14' cable or a 12', or something else?

I want one about a foot shorter to take the huge s bend out of it, or is that not advisable?
100 years from now, none of this will matter.

Shorter cable is better always ,assuming you can route it without obstruction, sounds from your measurements that you have a 14' cable , 14's and 15's are most common in 18' boats Tom
