Default Air Filters / Flame Arrestors

Getting ready to mount a fiber glass scoop (harwood) should I run an air filter or a flame arrestor??? Or should I just run it open??? Thanks..

I would say 75% of the guys running fiberglass scoops are not running any filter at all.
I run spark arrestors, but I cleaned all of the excess screen out of them.

I would run a couple of the K&Ns inside the scoop. There is more crap in the air at the river than you think. Also if the wind kicks up and blows sand you don't have to sweat it.

I've got a spark/flame arrestor I can let go for a reasonable price plus shipping. It's 8" Dia. by 3" high.

I ran two of the large ones inside the harwood scoop of the 1k hp mill I used to have and I just run one inside a dooley on my current ski motor.

How close are you to having your CP on the water?

The end of May for sure, what a pain in ass this project has been. But it will be well worth the wait. I drove it a couple of months ago just to test some of the settings and what a ride. I have never driven a CP before or even ridden in one, I'm hooked. Now I just need to get the focker totally dialed, which is the fun part.....

Not to jack the thread, but is your CP the one that is painted, and I believe your avatar is on the bow?

Yes it is. You are also correct, my avatar is a pic of the bow.
