The HIN should start with 3 letters. You can look those letters up here.

If it is a Youngblood, those 9 digits should be preceeded by "JBN". I suggest you ask the seller to recheck the HIN on the title as well as get the numbers directly off of the hull(right side of transom).
    They had better match........

Drill out the rivots and take that plate off. The real HIN will appear. Also look around the inside for a manufactures plate. If its been repainted/gell coated it could of filled in.

That would not be the case on an original 1979 model Youngblood. The original Youngblood's of that time period indeed used a stenciled aluminum plate although a little different than the one presented.

I would surmise the original registration was lost and what you are seeing on your boat is a State Assigned serial number. This is not uncommon in older boats where the paperwork was lost over the years. Do you have a Title with matching numbers?

If you post multiple pictures of the boat, we may be able to tell you if the pictures align with the characteristics of an original Youngblood TX-19. For example the original "lake boat" version of the TX-19's from Youngblood in that era either had built in fiberglass fuel tanks or Trimetric aluminum fuel tanks.

Although there were several "licensed" manufactuers of the hull during that time period, the one's constructer by Jim Youngblood were indeed JBN s/n boats. Does a decal still exist to the left of the steering wheel on the inside of the boat? In 1979 Youngblood relocated from Cabot, AR to Greers Ferry, AR so it coul dhave been constructed at either facility.

The TX-19 hull will indeed be over 19' and will be a Gullwing hull, not a true V.

    I hope this helps,
    Gearhead.

If this were a state assigned number, it should still have a 3 letter prefix. The first two letters would identify the state, and are the same letters used in the reg number(i.e. CF for California, AZ for Arizona, etc). The third letter would be a "Z". All states use this same sequence to identify their state issued HIN.

As mentioned above, clear pics of the boat in question would go a long way toward identifying it.

I thought your boat had the HIN stamped in it and it was one of the Crusader prefixes.

It does, the Boston Whaler has a TX HIN.....it's a 1966 model and the FL HIN has disappeared so I had to get a TX HIN for it.

The Crusader has a CXN prefix.

Ah. Gotcha. The 66 Whaler was before they standardized the HINs. If I remember correctly that happened in 73.
