Default Another All Aluminum Twin Turbo Jet Boat Project.

I guess the 522 project will go in the corner.

Just got home with a pile of parts. Just needs cleaned up and assembled. Brodix tall deck. Brodix head hunter heads. Intake already setup for 16 injectors.

Will need to tame it some. I'm OK with 9.4 compression but 900 lift and over 400 on the seat is a bit much for what we will be doing.

We'll take everything from the manifold up, turbos and headers off this project and insert the new engine. Theres nothing like changing direction before you get done with the existing project.

Thanks Steven. I think the boat will like the lighter engine

    It's a 4.250 stroke 565

Ah. Nice! Will it stay "std" or will it go another .030-over and be a (guessing) 572?

The bore is pretty close to max at 4.600

Don't care to buy new pistons at the moment.

The .030 comment was more of a question of - how are the bores? Was the engine used much? Will it NEED machining?

Now thats what I'm talkin about! 565cid, light weight, turbo'd ,alky engine. That should bout do it.
Thats a nice pile of parts you come up with there Ron. That boat should REALLY move out with 150+lbs less weight.

It has 5 new sleeves and the rest are OK.

But the entire engine was fresh and ready to assemble.

Thanks man. Now that you have spelled it out, it brings back memories.

The first time I fired the Cougar's blown alcohol engine up, I thought to myself. What the heck have I done.

Mrs. Infomaniac is not to thrilled about it.
