Default Used hatchets on my jetboat yesterday

No, not like that!! ( though I have felt like it at times!!)
They make great wedges to pop off the transom covers that have been glued on with too mucho silicone. Get two hatchets started on each upper corner. Tap them slowly. The hatchets have a nice bevel and the handle allows some gentle leverage. You will quickly have the silicone crackling loose. A little poking around with a 3" putty knife as you go makes separating the gorilla snot an easier job.

I use 2 or 3" blades, a couple of them.... cut off the silicone, then drive the blades in. Masking off the area, keep the hull from getting scuffed up. Glad it worked for you.
