At what RPM does this make the supposed 900?

If it makes it at 6500-6600 B, Maybe an A/B if it's lower than that. Gotta know where it makes the power at first.

    Mine made 965 @ 6000 and I have a B to spin it up to 6700ish.

Impeller choice should be predicated on a multitude of factors and considerations not the least of which is where the engine actually makes power, what boat , what intended useage etc , the more information the better and that will likley be a starting point Tom

Pump/ Horsepower/ RPM is a function of at least the following factors: worn out pump, new factory pump, blueprinted/ race modified pump, knarfed(sorry about the technical term) impeller, "V" blocker grate, loader grate, wear ring clearance(side and front with shouldered type), angle of attack of the hull, spoon in front of grate, angle to bottom that intake is installed, sea level or 4000 ft altitude, brand of pump and impeller, brand of bowl, bowl/impeller clearance, nozzle size, magazine HP or real world HP, ego, etc. I don't take much stock in the pump/Horsepower charts, but I may be wrong. P.S theres probably a bunch of factors that I forgot, everybody jump in and post up some more! TIMINATOR

    My theory on impeller selection.

Dyno the engine to see where peak power is made.

Use a basic impeller selection chart and select a bit big on the impeller size.

Run the boat and make sure the pump is properly loaded verified by pressure numbers.

Tune the impeller size to the peak power RPM.

If this level of tuning is not possible, Pick one off of the basic impeller selection charts provided by the pump manufacturers.

Where does it pull it without the juice ??? Sounds to me you need a A brother That would put you @ about 6300 and a imo more mph

Aint no since in spining it 6700 when you peak @ 6000 ... Put a Big impeller in there and let that motor and juice pull it jmo though

I'll probably switch it out to an A atleast when a bigger motor goes in it. Right now it's too close to summertime and I'm too lazy She runs pretty hard as is for now. Plus Monay I'm getting my lay-off papers at work so This way I can still run decent on motor and hang with a few guys.
