Default 86 23' Omega Engine swap

I have a 23' Omega with a 460 Ford, I want to put my 454 in it. Because the 460 is about 175lb more than the 454 will this create any problems? Do I need to move the Chevy back a little to offset it? Maybe just a dumb question.

    Thanks, I have a tired 460 and a fresh 454. That's the reason I'm looking at swapping.

Install it and find out. Depending on the type of mount you go with, it may or may not be easy to adjust. If you are starting from scratch, go. With a rail kit.

    Default 460

If you decide to go with the 454. I'm real interested in your old parts. I just this past weekend got my boat back that was stolen ten years ago. Someone found it in the woods and tried to register the hull. my 460 and all the mounting hardware is gone. They were too stupid to figure out how to get the jet drive out (thank God) .

    Thanks

The type of mounting system and drive line you chose and your engine bay will dictate engine position and likley is the BBC will end up in the same spot as the Ford The weight difference will have no appreciable effect on your boat Tom
