    Default 455 olds to 454 BBC

    I have a chance to get a fresh BBC 454, however i need to sell my olds to do it. Besides the engine plates/bell housing Whatelse do i need??
    Also if anyone is looking for a fresh 455 olds let me know!
    And the new project begins!

    In addition to the parts you mentioned you'll need a PTO and exhaust for the BBC.

    so i will be running a stock 454 4bolt main, with a torker II and a predator carb. im running an A impeller and a place diverter. What type of RMP's/Speeds are being seen with this combo? i know its stock etc. but i was just curious
    And the new project begins!

    With a tight pump and new impellor I would say around 4500-4600 depending on the cam.
    If the pump slips you could see more but might not get top speeds.

    My SST is a 454 and I love it. My Rebel is a 455 and after I use it as a test bed for a few other 455s i have been cleaning up I will be switching that Rebel to a 454. You wont miss that olds! You can put more RPMs on a stock 454 without having to worry as much about running your bottom end dry like you do in the 455s

    Over and above a driveline , water inlets and outlets, exaust and mounts you likley need a pan if you BBC doesn't have on or came from a door slammer , pan depth cant exceed 7 3/4 to maybe 8" (pan rail to lowest part) Tom
