Default East County Boats, Yuma Boaters

The Petrofied, MoneySucker and Quack attack thread has gone on for so long on Hot boat I thought we could open it up a little and add some new blood here. Some back round:

The Original Dirt lot marine location before mom and dad kicked us off the pavement

Tre Had Punkin Patch built to beat my tahiti with an olds:
    Motor out

    Motor set

    Parts ready for install

Pumped locked up on the river. Might as well rebuild it in the parking lot.

It couldn’t be done at the hotel. Move the party to Desert yacht Performance Marine.

Thanks to Desert Yacht and Skee. The pump was together by 1:30 AM and the boat was being tested at 2:30. Looking back we probably should have let the silicone dry but I must say that seal NEVER leaked and really should have with the lack of cure time.

    This wing still sh

ines years later Tre polished that thing so much. Lol

    Back on the trailer

The trailer was built for the golf cart to go up there. There are 14' ramps under the boat. Really sketchy loading and unloading.

    Chapter 3: Moneysucker

Tre Had Punkin Patch to beat my Tahiti with the 455 that was prior to digital cameras so there are no pix in my computer of that. On Tre’s Birthday just prior to completion of Punkin Patch, I brought home Money $ucker. This was a little irritating because Punkin Patch was set to be named Money $ucking B*tch. M$ was not really the boat that it is today.

Before I owned M$ it was called Time Tunnel

This is how M$ Started out.

New Tank (Rectangle with Vinyl cover that ended up splitting at the seams) and new seat covers along with fresh paint on the scoop.

Flip it and graphite coat the bottom. (It is a little thick and I am pretty sure has shaved a few MPH by me not wanting to have to reaply for a long time.

    There is the rectangle tank.

So we are getting a little better. Droop diverter and new rims on the trailer. We are going places.

The whole rig at the time.

And the scoop was only rated to 80 MPH (Blew off on the freeway on the way home. The boat was still in the 70;s)

Another season passes and now the competition has heated up. Tre is getting a new motor built. Well…Then so am I!!! I decided to add a blower. And turned out once getting in there eagle rods and a whole roller assembly and extensive head work.

Aaah yes, Expensive custom parts. For some reason require a grinder to fit.

    DONE!!!

While doing the motor, I might as well sand and re clear the floor.

Lets clear some money into the bilge too!!

Since the paint is out. I decided to do the seats and Pump too.

Might as well clear dollar bills into the seats too.

What the hell, I might as well Wet sand and buff the deck again to get the dog scratches off the deck.

Oh yeah, The motor build…Once it was dropped in the boat after all the annodising was stripped and everything was polished, No Regret$ called with a deal on injection. It never fired with the carbs.

The boat ran like this for a few months reaching what I thought was my goal of 100MPH.

After reaching 100 MPH, I asked for more and sent my blower in to be Teflon stripped. While the blower was in the shop, I sent the hat and some other parts in for polishing and disassembled the boat again to prepare for my ultimate goal of getting my boat in Hot boat magazine.

Everything was re polished and cleaned then Zoops Sealed to protect and “never have to polish again” A whole lotta time and money for nothing as far as I am concerned.

New stack tanks were added this time to finally get rid of the rectangle tank that had been repairs 2 times after losing at least 15gallons of C-12 in different incidents. I re painted the trailer and added clear lenses all around and 2 color flames to the bunks on the trailer. (Finisher just in time to dump into Elsinore algae lake followed immediately by San Diego Bay for bay fair)

    The Article:

My First time at the track. MF Looked good but ran like hell. Great on the trailer but crappy in the water.

This is what a 38 MPH Pass looks like. The good news is I was able to repeat this 5 times down the track in front of everyone I know. (Thank you shop that rebuilt my blower for making me look stupid.)

The motor came apart again after having the fuel system gone through and entire MSD System gone thru to make sure that was not causing the poor performance. And having the problem of the 5200RPM cut out. This time requiring a new Eagle crank as the tolerances were no longer acceptable on the stock GM Steel ctank.

After reinstalling everything this time omitting the Surge tank to bypass anything that is not completely necessary and adding an alternator to make sure the MSD system had enough power, The same problem plagued the boat. Almost 2 years had passed since running 100 MPH. Skee and I decided to drag the boat to Havasu, rob the blower and injection off his motor and try that to determine if that was the problem. (Thank you for lending parts Skee and for your hospitality for the engine building and the test trip Craig and Valerie)

Wanna know how far you can go with no oil in a blower?

The problem was found to be the blower. YAY!!! The shop who did the blower mic’ed it all out and said there was nothing wrong with it. I bought another blower from Bense and the problem is solved. And here we are to present day.
