    Default The New Hi-Helix Impellers ... ???

I'm interested in everyone's opinions ... who's running them, who Prep'd them for you and how are they performing for you versus the impellers you've been using in the past .....

Reason I'm asking is we're 'redoing some pump things' and I'd appreciate your input .....

So do I ... I have confidence, some at least or, should I say Hopes that we've all progressed to the point of the Evolution of our discussions about Jet Pumps/Drives where we can discuss the engineering of the workings of pumps in a constructive way ... We'll see.

The 'Black Mamba' will be back on 'The Rope' with Mike DRIVING as soon as I can complete the modifications I have underway are done, when our Crew decides they want to go and We can Afford It ... Gas to Ming and, Back is .....

If you have an engine that will make 2000+ hp and dont want to spin it 8000+ rpms then I dont think that there's any other alternative is there?

Todd if the economy hadn't taken such a dump for us two yrs ago I'd have some info for you guy's. With the economy and the engine needing a serious rebuild just haven't been able to do it. I got a HI-Helix "A" two yrs ago and was going to run it against my current MPD "B" with both radar gun acceleration info( you might recall my radar gun can plug into a laptop and give you time/speed and speed/distance readings) and GPS at 330', 660' and 1,000 ft info.

My plan still is to run it compared to the current MPD "B" that spins 6,200 off the bottle ( 825hp absorbed), run the Hi-Helix out of the box to see what it does and then send it to MPD and trim it to let it spin 6,600 off the bottle and re-test and make the info available. If my "ship comes in" this year it's high on my list of things to do.

After this rebuild the engine will have a bit more umph, I expect it to pull a bit harder.

    Sucks being broke.

Just envelope the fact that were all broke Obeezie! it gets easier when you let that small fact go! I have trimmed fat where I can, and believe it or not, river trips were made once I did this! Hope your ship comes into port this year bud! the Imp. test would be some good info!

I have back to back experience just this morning with comparison from going from a AA AMT 9" Impellar to a 9" Hi-Helix and let me tell you, theres no comparison. If you have the HP to turn one ,then certainly by all means go with the Hi-Helix.

Just what was recorded with the camera that I had on the guages.
I dont normaly promote "seat of the pants" tuning but there was such a dramatic difference in the pull from one to the other that it was just night & day. Not to mention the large drop in rpms.
