    Cool tunnel ram 850s

How would you guys jet a pair of QFT 850s on a 498 chev. 14.2 comp.solid-roller 366 cam lift [email protected] 050, 261 - lobe center 112 ? Should I jet them sqaure ? also air bleeds, power valves ? What I've got now is air bleeds-29+67 jets 70+80 power valves 3.5 it's still fat...but I don't want to burn it down..I run at campfar west 130 ft.above sea level Thanks...

I doubt you need a 7-8 Power Valve. Switch to a 3, 35 or maybe a 4. No more than that. They're supposed to OPEN at the number and I doubt with that cam you have 7-8 pinches of vacuum(which means they're OPEN at idle).

You MAY have other problems, but I'd certainly start there.

SORRY. Just reread your post. Your Jets are 70-80, not your Power valves. Your OK there. You may need to stagger jet for your T-Ram to show consistency.

Your carbs are sideways on tunnel ram? First you need to lock out linkage on secondaries to make them one to one. Pull the power valves out and put in blockers. i would start out jets at 80 square. if she bogs out of the hole bump up the discharge nozzles one or two sizes.. do you have picks?

    Cool

Thanks guys..heres the deal,I bought these for the 498, they never were right, when I had joey grose dyno it we couldnt get enough air through them, left alot of power on the tabel,so I shiped them to bob oliver (he did a great job on my 660s) he recalliberated them and there better...but this thing should crackel not blubber..he told me when removing power valves you must richen primarys 10 up..this isn't an allout race deal...but I'll pick a few fights....so I guess what I'm asking is anybodys setup close to mine what are you running...I will give C+J a call thanks again

Nuytten is good but high$$$$$ I have one of his carbs and it works well! Some of the carb builders do have problems with T Rams! They are not as easy either! Post up the performance of the new setup when you are done!
