    Default Berkley JE to JG

So we got a bowrider Rochellecraft for a runabout. My dad always wanted a bowrider jet and he couldnt stop himself when he found this one. It needs new interior and we'll probably have to rebuild the pump but the 460 in the boat cranks right up! So this boat came with a JE Berkley pump that we are wanting to put a droop on. Do yall think it would be possible to put a JG bowl on the back of the JE pump so we can droop it?

And of course here are some pics

and yes we still have the ski platform for it

To simply add a split bowl and nozzle adaptor wouldn't take much but a droop changes steering geometry quite a bit , this is very simple and inexpensive to effect , Simply abandon the lower cable set up and "Top steer" it using a "splash well" kit and new Cable bulkhead type thru hulls , we actually make Billet plugs for the low mount holes , doing one of these now on my Challenger 18' resto , one of the advantages is that inherent low steering leaks are eliminated . Your original 12jf Gimball style steering wont work well with a droop but has great value in the used market to trade up to a Place diverter Tom

Joshs Glastron "E" , has a Place mini droop and top steer set up

    Billet hull plugs

Tom, why not build a new bracket that bolts to the steer arm?

Thanks for the help Tom! I think we'll definitely have to look into this a bit more and read up on it. Sounds like it may not be as far fetched as I first thought
