What kind of power info do you guys disclose to your Agents?? I know I have had a problem in the past trying to sell them that my aluminum headed over transom tunnel is just 330 HP, and if they would insure me, it was like $900 per year!
from what I hear that was not a bad price too! lol

    16' Mantra Tunnel
    454 BBC told them 350hp
    Over transom headers
    $10k coverage

My full coverage through Farm Bureau is $420 a year and I'm only 27 years old

The only details they asked is HIN, length, headers, horsepower, year, how much to cover it for.

this actually brings up a good point...Todd (TRG), lets say you did not have a bigger HP motor and you were more in the range of 500 HP, would you be able to insure your boat?

I could have swore I once heard somebody say that 19' daytona style hulls were impossible to insure regardless of thier HP because they were considered "unsafe" by insurance companies.

This question is really for anybody with a cat/daytona style hull.

    Thanks!

Guess they look atthe free board of the boat, pipes and look for an engine cover. Theywouldn't touch my Bahner. Said no way, and refunded my 6 month payment!!! But then again, i am in Cali!!

If its a daycruiser style jet, they will look twice, if its a lil hot rod, they will say no twice!! I thinkit just depends on who the agent is, and who is reviewing it further up the chain!! Maybe I will try again!!
