    Default flyweel vs flexplat

    Just got back today from a lake run just changed my flexplate to thicker( flyweel) no more crazy starter sound first run was great.then second run I stomp on it I get poping from my carb.?.did I jump my timing when I changed over to a thicker (verson) flyweel.

    Impossible to change timing from an external crankshaft bolt on however, you may have put an external or internal balanced unit on after removing the opposite type. Better check that before you lose a crankshaft.

    More flywheel weight needs more accelerator pump.

    Thanks for the info hondo and red blooded.wile I was at the lake I tryed loosing the distributor and advancing or retarding my timing it helped a little but still not running to its full potential.I got home and now my carb is all black inside and my neddles were black too but my plugs were fine.please any mature advise would help.ps the lake was great.

    sounds like you are running out of fuel if it's popping on the top end. need 5-7# at least if u dont already have a fuel psi gauge that's where i would start.
