    Default Mini starter question

I am running a 1.9 hp Hitachi chrome mini starter. The starter has NO "R" terminal on it. Do I need this wire or can it be eliminated? I have a MSD ready to run dizzy and looking at a jet boat wiring diagram the wire from the "R" terminal runs to the HEI distributor. Is the "R" terminal nneded or not? Thanks....Hal

The "R" terminal is only used for a "ballast bypass". Only needed with point type ignition and a few electronic ignitions(Mallory Unilite, for example)that use a ballast resistor. Your MSD does not require it.
