medallion tach help

Has anyone had any luck making a medallion tach work with an msd tach adapter? I just got a 21' carrera elite and put an msd ignition in it, I want to be sure it will work before I spend $60 on the msd #8920 tach adapter or just put that money toward a new set of gauges. Thanks

For what its worth, one of the best things I ever did was updated my gauges. I'm incompetent when it comes to wiring and new gauges made it so easy. No more bouncing needles etc. One thing I wish I would've done was get a recall tach that reads max rpm.

how old are your medalion gauges?

my medallion gauges started acting up ,then fallin apart(original). Replaced them with autometer,there great & look awsome! I say put your money into new ones!

Boat is an 85, I expect they are original. I fully expected to hear that new ones would be the trick, just wanted to know if anyone had any luck. Thanks for the replies, new auto meters will be on the way shortly
