Default Jet Boat temperature / plumbing

    Fellow Jet-boaters....

I am in the process of rebuilding my Bahner, and in the process of a Blown 496 build. My old water log exhaust manifolds are getting replaced with a dry system (upswept headers).

Seeing as i will no longer be pre-heating the water through the old log manifolds, the water will be entering the block cold.... How do i enable the engine to run at optimum temperature (Approx 160 degrees).
I have read the tech talk on Performance Jet.com and see the bypass thermostat kit is available, but i am still a little unsure how this works....

The blower / manfold i will be using are pictured.
I also purchased a neat dedenbear water inlet manifold which i thought would look neat on the front. It has an #12 AN fitting which will except the flow from the pump.

As the water exits the manifold, i was going to split the water flow from the 2 outlet thermostat housing into 2 lines to run out to the transom.

Do i just run a pressure relief kit, and a thermostat in the housing and be done with it? Maybe an oil cooler would help heat up the water before the block....

Anyone shed suggestions on this? Or does someone have a diagram?

run a thermostat kit to recycle warm water thru the block to the water inlets. get rid of excess water pressure to the block with a pressure relief valve, and ditch your gate valve as its not needed anymore. the thermostat will handle the flow, whereas your flow control with the logs was the gate valve.
