I have a berkley I think I is a A impeller how can I get more speed out of it . Or what kind of pump do I need to get. I have a 460 police intercepter in it it makes about 450 hp at 4800 rpm.

Berks are great pumps and you can do a lot with them and to them. What RPM are you getting out of the boat right now? Look at the metal tag on top of the pump just behind the driveshaft coupler. You should see something like 12JC A or 12JG B or something to that effect. What does yours say? The first part tells you what pump model you have, the letter (A or B etc) will tell you the factory installed impeller

If you know the motor makes peak power at 4800 then typically you will want to set the pump up to allow it turn this RPM. Do you have a Place Diverter or anything else done? The more info the better....

    Default pumps

I would have to agree with moto on that, He knows a ton about jets. How do you know your motor makes that power at 4800 have you dyno'd it? also a place diverter does make a difference. I think the Berkley is the best out there for River runnin fast fun reliable stuff. they are super simple and easy to rebuild and you can built that pump to specs that would take a 1000 hp's to turn it its all in the right combo.. find out what kind of jet you have and go from there but i can definetly stick my neck out there for moto. Shit he does all the work on my ghetto ass boat..And everytime He works on it, its faster and better so mad props to you MOTO

X2 on what has already been shared. Adding a diverter will allow you to make best use of the power you have and give you the best return for money spent. You can spend a lot of money on other things that give you minimal results. Best to decide exactly what you want to do with the boat and how much money you are willing to spend.
