Well. lets see.... IF you were camped at Davis Camp you might be able to organize a "pot luck" type breakfast gathering in the campground. You'd be hard pressed to find enough water that early to go anywhere else.... I think "Lazy Harry's" is the only place on the upper river serving breakfast, or lunch, or dinner, for that matter, and the lagoon has exploded in weeds this summer. Those weeds WILL wind up in your pump, or wrapped around your bent prop if you try to get in there before early afternoon.... Topock is in the middle of a redo, but if you launched down at Jack Smith, Pirate$ Cove, IF OPEN after Labor Day, would be the best place to go north of Havasu.... The water level at the Avi is very low in the mornings. So low it looks like you could walk across the river..... Davis Camp was mentioned for this gathering once before, and I would encourage that. (there's always the Casinos in Laughlin, (5 minutes away by car, but no boat docking facilities) for "Breakfast Buffets")... Once the dam opens in the morning, Davis Camp is first to see the river rise.... And by 1PM it should be high enough for runs to, and beyond, the Avi.... As I've said in the past, I'm here in Bullhead with a fairly well equipped shop, (15 minutes from Davis Camp, and NOT a "for profit business"), if anyone should have any issues that would ruin their trip.. ALSO, Lake Mohave is 15 minutes the other way from Davis Camp, and the level there is never an issue on the main body of water... (Sure, the fingers can be shallow, but that would apply to any lake)....Beach Camping IS LEGAL on Lake Mohave, maybe a split between there and Davis Camp, or totally on the Lake??? That would take a little more planning to be sure the camp area is accessible by car/truck/motorhome/trailer....

Here to help, keep me in the loop for an "after, after, Labor Day" gathering....(I'll be in Parker the weekend of the 9th/11th).....

PSS YES, it IS butt ugly hot, but "it's a dry heat".....and the river, right under the dam, is quite refreshing, if not down right COLD......
