    Default Fuel/water separator?

Are they necessary on a lake boat running E-85? My boat is currently rigged with one on each tank. They look similar to this,

I had the same problem, and in 1982 put one on my boat. It was the larger one, with a drain on it. Would get about a cup of water out of it each day. Worked great.
