Default Prawn* Finally Done - First Day Testing - Jet Mad

After 6 years of importing and collecting parts for my Kona with a 455 Olds motor I have finally reach the point where I am almost satisfied with the work I have done.

A very big thanks to some of the members on the board sharing their knowledge and valuable experience in helping me.

Some pics of the the first test after the recent rebuild of the motor.

    Bob,

I live in South Africa and one of the rules of way is we ride anti clockwise on rivers and dams, if it was left hand drive we sit on the wrong side of the boat and can get hurt being thrown to the right in a turn. Also no left hand drive vehicles can be registered here.

Right hand drive, left foot for the throttle, actually works great.

    Duane,

Thank you for your compliment, as you know most of the parts on my boat was imported from you.

The patience and help that you showed during the time of my build was incredible. The quality of the parts is outstanding and even though I sometimes ordered stuff which was not available from you, you took the time to source them.

    Thank you very much.

PS: I am starting a second build soon so do not think you are rid of me yet

    CVX,

It is summer here now, we are hitting temps in the mid 40*C (not F) and it is as hot as hell. You coming to South Africa?

    N8dawg,

It is a rare sight seeing an American jet boat over here, I have one of two Kona jet boats that I know of that is running over here.

A friend of mine owns the other one, but it is powered by a 383 Stroker.

We are the only jet boat club and it consists of two members

curious what you did with the carbon fiber? i was thinking about doing something similar... using the carbon fiber vinyl wrap, and then clearcoating over the top of it. wondering if you ran into any issues.
