Default puke tank & bracket build

got a used puke tank & pulled the dent out at the fitting on the side & polished it . hand built a bracket & got the valve cover bling. it was kinda tuff as the carb sits a little crooked between the turbo set-up but the bracket & tank sits perfect.

Default crank trigger custom bracket build

i was getting kick back, breaking starters etc.. i found out that when the timing went into start retard the rotor was in between 2 terminals. so i ground open a cap and phased my distributor and built a bracket so i can actually get to the timing in the boat . the brackets are designed to mount on the bottom or in a way i couldn't get to it to change the timing originally. i also put a bigger style cap on with a cap adapter and a nice good starter. i put all stainless hardware on after bracket was finished.

    Default lifter & pushrod mod

i noticed i had some extra valve lash of like .045 or so on a couple rockers. the push rods were getting galled up. i had to grind a tiny notch which is normal in some cases as i did read about it and the engine shop verified i needed to get a little more oil up top. also had to have heads clearance more for the fatter pushrods & even still they hit the lifter on the sides and had to do a little grinding.clearancing on some of the push rods.pushrods are super thick!

Default boat interior all cleaned up

i did honeycomb with fiberglass over for the flooring i dont think it was quite done in these pics.original flooring was 45-47 lbs of wood. this is 20lbs i can get it lighter too as i have a doulbe layer over the tank. it can get some circle cut-outs on the bottom layer .and on the subfloor down by the feet can get some lightning too.

Default had to do some trailer repair.

trailer broke in half in the back thru the light cutout. i cut old reinforcement brace off and added a much longer one. longer than the cutout for the light so it wont be weak. added some flat stock on the bottom too. seen the crack starting on the drivers side so wanted to fix/weld before i put new bunk boards & carpet on. also added 4 more braces all on the beam before the back, to help support the engine weight .

Default turbos ate some stainless steel

carburator accelerator pump checkvalve needle got bounce between the turbos....been wanting to upgrade.......converting from cast 72mm impellers, 2.5" output to 78mm billet cnc impellers, 3" output ......also had my first actual catastophy...been detonating due to extra hp/heat. been running straight 110 octane and was at 24* timing when she lost a rod. all the rod bearings were smashed out.intercooler can't keep up at the higher boost. 13 psi was il but 16 killed the motor. found out that i have stainless steel cores

    Default

Wondered how this deal was doing--- sorry for the failure. Rebuild---new larger turbos and add C-16 to the mix and you will be golden. Probably get away with adding some timing too. The C-16 is designed for high intake temps(no cooler) and high boost.
