I just spent a good deal of time on the World's website, that is a greuling schedule! I wish it was a little closer, I'd love to see those boats in action.

I spoke with my boss last nite and got the low down.

The turbine boat is not surprisingly the boat to beat and is spreading the gap on every leg. Rumors abound that the boat has hit 137 MPH

My boss is still chasing down the 2nd place boat with the mighty Ford of 6 time world champ Spencer King but he's doing so with his big Pontiac backup engine. Not sure what happened to his main motor but they made the change before the first leg even started.

Most of the Canadians are doing well from the sounds of it but time will tell how the turbine boat lasts. It sure is unreal and sounds awesome

    Awesome Video.

It'll be interesting to see if these Turbines become the norm. If it can handle the pounding. You'd think the load/unload cycle in a jet boat on whitewater would be hard on it.

If it does well you'll see more next year

May even get the equivalent of the Nascar Hemi ban.........

How many Eagle boats in the race?

Todays update has us hearing that the turbine boat had an incident which saw it hook, spin and go up the bank backwards. Crew is fine, boat damage minor but the team did recive a DNF for that leg meaning they are out of the overall hunt for a world title.
A shame really but it goes to show that in this type of racing its as much about consistancy as top speed.

All I can say now is........ GO FORD GO!!!

    Default Canadians dominate US worlds

The race has finished and Canadians have done extremely well at the race hosted by our neighbors to the south.

    Results are as follows (unofficial):

    Overall

    Spencer King
    Chad Burns
    Tim Greber

    A class
    Alex Robinson

    B Class
    Tim Greber

    FX Class
    Richard Grant

    BBFX
    Unknown

    SJ Class
    Unknown

Canadians finished first in every class they enterted and were also first second and third overall.

    Way to go boys!

Also of course special congrats to, now 7 time world champion, Spencer and Russel King. As if thats not enough of a feat they can also boast 5 consecutive titles AND the are the only conventional piston engined boat to beat a gas turbine, Blue Oval indeed!
