    Default alternator question

Ok dumb question.... I took alternator apart to clean and was polishing and when I reassembled it I noticed diode on back is installed crooked. Yes assembled it right, lol, no spare parts were left. Lol. Anyone else like this??? Is this normal or f'd up? Just seems weird! It's motorola that came on my 460. Wondering also if this 37 amp deal is enough for my new motor? Running all MSD now and adding stereo in boat. Thanks guys

If it works that way, use it. If it don't, put on one of the $119.00 one wire Chrome alternators from Jegs.

as long as the isolation washers and what not are stacked right. you could always take it to a show to get them to bech test. when i took mine apart put it back together and it did not work they tested and adjusted the reg for free. Note: buing a cheap crome unit is not a good idea if your running a engine cover....
