Default 460 74 tahiti panther pump

just bought this 74 tahiti 18 footer was set up for a 460 so i got a 460 with a rear sump pan --pan hits floor of boat before mounts can bolt up --so the question is will a front sump pan work or am i gonna have to get a special pan for this ford motor--

I had a 429 CJ pan with front sump for many years with no problems. However that was with farely stock set up. Bigger power more rpms I wld go with big 10 quart rear pick up

Do yourself a favor and find a jet boat specific pan. It's more than just holding a larger quantity of oil or front or rear sump, they're usually baffeled to keep the oil around the oil pick up tube. You will kill any motor regardless of power if you starve it for oil. Boats in general usually starve the engine for oil more from oil slosh than lack of quantity.

This will require a Jet boat specific "Box style" high capacity pan or an OE style jet boat front sump pan , the rear sump unit you have (or center sump) is an auto, truck or van application , the sump depth as you have found precludes proper installation to allow for correct driveline alignment Please check you PMs Call or email if we can help you Tom
