What is dimpled speed coat? How about some pictures of your work before you roll it back over?

Sorry hope you get your answer, I am laid up with a bad back and I'm tearing my hair out. By "Dimple" you mean like a golf ball? Some guys just rough up wetted surface then speed coat.

Do not think anyone does the dimples anymore. Just a sanded painted surface or speed-cote.

the theory is that it breaks up the water making air bubbles that the boat is on instead of flat suctioned water, if you glue 8 bricks to the bottom of the boat itll make bubbles but is not best for speed, just speed coat it, you just want enough texture to break the"suction effect"

When I have the bottom of my 21' DiMarco cruiser regelled I am insisting on heavy orange peel on the running surface and will then speedcote it.
