    Default mallory dist

    i have a mallory single point marine dist.. and was thinking? do i need to run the ballast resister like some of them or if i run an internal resisted coil am i ok ? thanks robbie

    Either, or.

    Preferrably the external resistor cause you are then able to run a 12v lead straight to the coil for startup purposes only.

    To add.....this 12v source should come from the starter solenoid....so it is only "hot" when the starter is engaged.
