Default Bridge and Road construction in Oscoda

Lynn, HST4ME, maybe you can let us all know what we need to know to avoid the Bridge and Road construction thats going on in Oscoda. Is there any way you could run a map or onfo on any detours for getting out to the pond? Thanks. Chet

Chet, road repair could knock us out of this event. Christine has to work @ 10am Sunday. She is trying to change this, but has not been able to as yet. We would love to be there to hang out with our boating friends.

Mike your not coming from that direction anyway so it won't affect you, it's on 23 from just over the bridge all the way through town. The detour is well marked and does'nt take you that far out of the way. Basically just a couple streets east of 23. Just turn left on river road from the stop sign and it's buisness as usual.

I agree with Lynn.. The construction in Oscoda is WAY over hyped!! The detour is well marked and is along paved streets. Worst case is about 50 feet of hard packed gravel to cross US23 on River Rd.

Better yet.. Coming from the south, go thru AuSable and avoid town all together. Turn left on Smith St. just south of the AuSable River bridge on US23. Take Smith till it curves around into Third St. Take Third to the stop sign @ Old US23, go straight onto Old 23. Hang a left @ Mill St. This will bring you up to the Hill Top Bar @ the corner of Mill St. and River Rd. Go left on River Rd. and you have avoided the construction completely!!
