Here's some info for you guys who are coming to the Secord meet. Places to stay the night are Lost Arrow Resort there number is (989)345-7774. This place is high end and has a restaurant right there. Cedar Inn in Gladwin number is (989)426-4534 Nice motel in down town Gladwin there is a restaurant there also. It's about a 20 min drive to the lake. If you want to camp there is a camp ground right across the street from Secord Lake Marina. There number is (989)426-4020. There are 5 boat launches we can use. The DNR launch is at 3450 W River Dr in Gladwin. We can launch at both marinas 2631 Lakeshore DR this one is Secord Lake Marina. The other is 4069 Lakeshore Dr. If you launch at the marinas just buy you pop and beer from them. They are not charging you to use there ramps just would appreciate your business. There is another public launch at 1397 Sioux St Gladwin not much parking here but only a quarter mile from my house and you can park at my house lots of room and can get you down to your boat. The other launch is at 4475 wildwood rd in Alger. This one is at the end of the river. If you have any other questions just ask me and Marc will help you out the best we can. BRING LOTS OF GAS!!!!:))THumbsUp

I was at the Oscoda meet looking for that chair and beer but never found it. Never saw Lynn either. Do you believe that. He couldn't even show up at home. See you guys at the Winter party if I'm still kicking. Going to Taladaga for the Oct NASCAR race. Chet

Looking forward to this weekend. Thanks Brian for posting the information. I would suggest not launching at the Marina if you plan to run past the marina closing time. Your best bet would be the M-30 Pincrest DNR ramp, which is also free. This is the nicest ramp. Otherwise the public ramp near Brian's house is mid-river.

I will be out in the morning in the boat and round-up guys that we see. We can head downriver and stop a a few places for breaks. No issues with water depth. Plenty of places to let the boats rip. The main lake area near the dam is at least 3/4 mile long and wide. We routinely race at speeds of 100 MPH and most folks around / on the lake stop to watch / thumbs up...

Fuel on the lake as well if needed.
Couple pictures from last year....

Take care, Marc Morrell :))THumbsUp

Scott's Chevelle wiped out a cam shaft and he's getting it ready to run at Milan dragway and I'm getting prepared for my trip to Alabama. There's 10 of us going and I'm hauling my 28ft car hauler with all of our essentials such as food, grills, chairs and tables, golf carts and most importantly 60 cases of you'll never guess what. We're picking up 2 Motor homes in Nashville so we don't have to sleep on the ground. Like I said earlier, I'll see you at the winter party if I'm still kicking. Chet

I have a 30 pitch drag 3 (labbed) like new you can try.
It has an interchangeable hub so if you have the regular Mercyry small shaft insert you are welcome to try it. I have the fat shaft insert for mine, and not shur what you have. Just let me know. Marc

Bring it, I can get the small shaft insert to use with it. I just dropped my boat off at Lynns tonight for a overheating problem so there may be a slim chance I don't make it. Crossing my fingers.
