The ones I remember were Sidewinder splashes... WHICH Thundercat would help too.. there were a lot of builders that used that name.

yes thats the boat, when dan had it, it was rigged for merc's. the boat is also built for 25" mids. we had 20" on it but had to put 6" jackplates to get the motors low enuff.

again heavy boat, never a problem with it when dan had it.......not sure what else you need to know?

    Default Thundercat

I have seen that a few times just a ways from my house. There is a smaller repair place I get parts at once in a while. On Bostwick Lake.

Well i finally got a chance to get over to the boat and check it out. Mmmmm not a good report. First off the boat still has a seven foot by two foot by 12 inch thick chunk of ice in the drive side sponson, which has encased the trim pump and part of the gas tank. But that is not the big negative! The transom is seperating from the top half of the hull. At this time it has about a 3/8 gap and is only going to get worse. To me it looks like the stand off brackets were mounted to high on the transom and with the weight of the engines it is like a huge fulcrum at that point. The interior is beat what a bummer you can tell this was a real nice boat at one time. Well the search goes on, warm weather is on it way and we need a boat.

I know what it's like to go and look at used boats and never find what your looking for . So I ordered a brand new one and don't regret it one bit. No one's cobbled up junk! Might want to consider it. Good Luck in your search.

Honestly I was more or less biting my tongue when I mentioned seeing it earlier. I never looked at that boat very closely, but did not have to in order to tell it was not a super high end, well maintained rig. The guy that operates that place is a nice enough fella and I get way better prices on replacement parts and supplies from him than others in the area (even on my own lake that I live on 7-8 miles away) so I did not want to say anything terrible either way. Sorry it did not turn out, but glad it was so obvious you did not make a mistake and get into a pile. Shopping is the fun part
