It was 44 outside yesterday and it felt like summer. Christine was ready to uncover the boat while I checked out the ramp.. The ramp was a no-go and the lake still has sled tracks

A old trick to clean the scum off the black outboards is to use lemon pledge...

Larry, years ago we always wiped the engine down with pledge after we got back to the ramp. Waxing was a pain in the ass when the engine covers were grainey like cowhide. Your shit will sparkle. It takes off water spots with ease...I use it on my hull to remove the mineral deposits..I don't wax my boat, but was told the pledge will remove wax.....so does Dawn.

my buddy bought a boat that sat in a river the bottom of the boat was all brown from staining and the outdrive was all white with nasty scale i took a bug sprayer put muriatic acid in it sprayed the bottom and the outdrive the brown ran right off and let the out drive soak spraying it once in awhile it came out brand new looking the fumes are excessive so you have to watch out for that but all you have todo is rinse it with water works well on rusty parts as well you guys probably know that i use it all the time on nasty parts and such

Usually a 12 pack of Budweiser on the nearest picnic table will keep the scum away from your motor for awhile.

The lake here is almost fully thawed. Might be time to shake the windows.
