Default Been gone for a while.

Hello fellow Performance Boaters. I have been off the grid here for quite some time and thought I woul catch up with everyone.
For the past several year my mother had been suffering from dimensia and parkinsons disease and on July 20th she passed away.
It seems strange that at age 45 both my parents are now gone. I miss them a lot.
Anyways. I see that there is a get together August 24th at Otsego Lake and I just Inherited a house on Guthrie Lake which is only 20 minutes away. My question is this. I am tinking on coming to the meet and was wondering if Otsego is deep enough to run my 32 Sunsation Dominator or would I be better off running the Sanger which is pictured in my avatar? Otsego looks pretty good size but I never see much boat traffic on it.

I would really like to bring the Dominator considering I haven't even had the thing out this summer.

Give me your input on which boat I should bring an which boat will create less grief with the water cops.

Welcome back! Otsego is around 20ft at it's deepest. I have'nt been to the launch in years so I'm not sure of the depth at the ramp. The lake overall is deep enough though.

What about weeds, stumps ect. The Dominator is running low water pickups and I sure don't want to fry an impellar or worse, end p smackin' something with an outdrive. That would suck.

Your better off with the Sanger then if you have the Hoover drives.

That is the boat I was talking about....that lake is clear of debris....weeds and logs. I think someone picked up a wig on there prop....I picked up a pair of boxers on the prop....but no body parts yet....lol

Default Nice to hear from you scott

I live across from your place on Guthrie Lakes Scott.
SORRY to hear about your mother. I knew you lost your dad but had no idea about your mother being sick. I have noticed for a while the place was empty but thought maybe your mom was downstate with you guys after your father passed. I still remembering talking to your dad in his jeep about the jetboat. He really loved that thing.

Listen, if you ever need help with the place, need for me to do anything, or give you a hand, let me know. OR just stop buy the house for a beer. My HM number is 989-731-5986, cell 989-350-4304, Cell phones do not work around the lake as you know.

We will be boating this weekend on Otsego Lake, just drive down Sanctuary drive (house thrid on right) until you see speedboat boat and camper in my driveway.

PS - Hope your going to Hardy this year as well.

I'm only on this site about once per week, so phone best way to get in touch. Marc Morrell

ey Marc. My mother has been down state with us since dad died over 3 years ago. Now my sister and I own that monster of a house and are planning on doing work to it and getting it in shape so you will see us up there every month or so. We wee there for a week in July because mom wanted to be buried with her family in Petoskey. I had the Sanger there as well but blew the bowl seal on the jet drive so I didn't drive it much. My sister s planning on going up this weekend to check on things and relax with her 2 dogs and her boyfriend so stop by and say hi if you see a black Silverado in the driveway.

P.S. Yes I am hitting Hardy for HotBoat weekend and Iwill have the Dominator there so if your th see me,flag me down.
