    Default Saginaw River Saturday

Going to do the Saginaw River from Zilwaukee to the mouth, stop by the SBYC maybe have a burger and a beer, possibly run to the State Park if the bay co-operates and there are a lot of boats out, I'm thinking I'll know a bunch of locals that hang at the State Park all summer, they should be out for a last hurrah, maybe even try to get down the Kawkalin and do Castaways. Been a few years since I've made that trip, the river may not be V-Drive friendly. Anyway going to be high 70's and I'm going to make a day out of it !!!!!! I'm thinking about 10:30 at Zilwaukee blast off !!!!!!

You'll be fine in the Kawkawlin. Just don't go outside of the channel markers heading in.

    I would so do this!
But I have prior plans that we are committed to that has nothing to do with the boat.
Thanks for throwing it out there. Next time for sure!
Wish all that goes a safe trip.

Bill, is there any place on the river in B C that sells premium fuel ? I can go from Zill to Hooters and back to Zill on a tank but no further. Mite have to go to Kawkawlin and put in to make it to the bay.

Bay Harbor sells 90 octane Boat gas no ethanol, Run up there, fill up, bottle of octane booster in both tanks, good to go !!!! I can go from Zillville to the mouth and back on 14 Gallons if I'm just cruising. My boat holds over 40, I usually run there on one tank. With my fuel system, I can pump 1/2 of my full tank to my empty one and then top them both off.

Boo.. I have quite a bit of left over stuff from my 3.0 project. The rods in those motors are terrible. Send me a pic of the window, hopefully it can be welded up.

    Default Mission Accompolished !!!

Launched at Lee St. ran the river, went down the Kawkawlin, pounded a couple at Castaways, stopped at SBYC had a burger/beer hammered it pretty good on the way home, did it all on less than 20 gallons of fuel. Had an engine miss at about 5500 rpms. Could hear it miss once in awhile, got home pulled the plugs, # 4 was finger tight, hard to believe, that's a hard one to get to, must have had the socket jammed at an angle when last installed it and it fooled me. Also the air is thin now and my whole set up looks lean, going to go 1 step on the primaries and 2 more rich on the secondarys. All the plugs look a little grey, not nice and chocolate tan like they were all summer.

I went from Zilwaukee to Sbyc and back with another couple, took it easy, came back at midnight and did that run on 14 Gallons.
