    Default congrats

I didn't realize it was a jet. That's why the distance between the seat and engine. And then from the front there were the red cables sticking up behind the engine. Very cool. Can't wait to see it in the water! She should really like it!

you cant have a some-what newbie in a V-drive... V-drives just aren't the best lake boat.
SO I had to bite the bullet and get a V-drive with training wheels... (JET)

BTW found a pan out west...

    Very nice gift!

just curious for your reasons that a v-drive is difficult for a newbie. I guess I don't think about it much since my boat has been in the family since before I came along and it's what I learned to drive. What about the jet makes it easier? I've never driven a jet of that style.

she did grow up on torch lake, but she has never ever driven a V-drive. 100% of Biesemeyer flatties ( the only fattie i will own ) do not have any type of transmission in them...
Thus no reverse, no neutral, just start and go... If she got into a bad situation I feel she might make a mistake and cause an accident.

At least with a jet she has forward, reverse and neutral, plus they are so user friendly in the no wake zone.

I don't care for Jets, but its almost a no brainer for her. Plus I have another Biesemeyer to add to my fleet of boats.

Makes perfect sense. I guess I just switch into v-drive mode when I drive my Stevens (same as your setup, I'm either in gear or not, with no reverse). I'll admit it's nice driving my parents' Ski Nautique and having drivetrain "luxuries" like fluid neutral and reverse, but going back to mine never bothers me.

Cool that your wife grew up on Torch Lake. I spent most of my childhood on Ostego about 40 mins west of there, and my parents retired to Lake Bellaire now, connected to Torch. I love going up there.
