Default Looking For Good Fiberglass Guy

Who knows of a fiberglass guy in or around Warren, Mi. that is competant with stringers, floors, bulkheads, etc. I may have a painter but nothings a sure thing till I get the glass done.

I'd like to find an individual with a shop or garage that works on his own rather than a big outfit. Any sugestions?

The boat is a 1978 21 Spectra jet 460. Id like to go with full stringers and wider floor than just the stock engine box set up.

I have a 21' Rayson Craft Daycruiser, complete, 454 powered, 72C velvetdrive, c500 casale gearbox on trailer need interior work. All original gel coat, hull has no gouges cracks etc. very plain hull(no fancy paint) but in near execellent condition. Some fading from the sun. I'll sell probably for much less than It's going to cost you to repair that Jet. I'm in the Niagaa Fall, N.Y. area. Have pictures if anyone is interested [email protected]. Mel (Temptation Boats) out of Toronto, Canada may do the work for you. He's a small one man shop but does execellent work and has build and repaired may raceboats over the years. He has molds for both the wide and narrow Biesemeyer hulls. Tim

Didn't figure you needed another project. I was just throwing it out there in case someone else maybe interested. It seems like Michigan has become the place for hot boats on this coast. I'd take $6,500.00 for it.

I have talked with Pat Sankuer and he does sound like he knows his stuff.

I believe I can pull this off myself, if I can find the time.

I guess that I have done so much research on replacing stringers and bulkheads that I have to give it a shot myself.

If I run into a jam or something, Patrick is probably the guy.

    Thanks.

I've done 3 sets of stringers in my personal boats from 15 feet to 24 feet. It's a big job. When I did the 24 foot boat it took me all winter long.

The trick is using the right materials and having lots of room with proper ventilation.

I'm also in the Novi area and can stop by to offer some direction if needed.

Here's what I started with. All stringers were soaked and rotten...

Here's the new wood cut from the old patterns...

Here's everything before the final layers of glass...
