    Default Remember I'll miss her?

    Hey guys,
Just got a call from the New Jersey couple that bought my boat. I had a new title made out for her ( Boat ) last year. I bought out of state too. Well when I started to fill it out last week, I put my name in the purchaser's spot. Tried to erase, did, but not to good. Filled in with his name, then completed with my name in seller. New Jersey Sec. Of State wont except it. I think I have to get a new title, what do you think I should do? Is this a big deal? Reg. is gone too. They already have the plate for the trailer, hell the boat is in New Jersey now. Thanks.

Should only need a power of attorney letter, with a notorized stamp. I realized my HIN was wrong on my title when stopped by the waterway patrol. got it taken care of after the boat was sold, just took about three weeks

In Wi. you can just get a replacement title no problem for a few bucks but I don't know how Mi. works I would think about the same way. I would say just get another title and send it to them that would be the easy way out I think.

Go to the Secretary of State and order a replacement title. Usually they arrive in your mailbox in 7-10 days.

Sign it and send it via usps priority mail so that there is a tracking number.

That's the cleanest way to do it.

Thanks guys. What a bummer this is. I'll wait till I get the old title back, then go into Sec of State with it and go from there. I know where I missed up, You know the little side bar on the title where it said, " to be filled in by seller". Well I thought this is where I start filling it out with my name. Wrong. Purchaser first half of it, then seller. That's what I get for being in a hurry. Lesson learned. Thanks again.

Some s.o.s. offices will print a duplicate title while you wait..the cost was 20 bucks. call around and find a office that will do it. here it is gaylord office.
