    Default Wamplers Lake Meet

O K Guys and Gals, less than two weeks until our first meet of the season at Wamplers Lake. If your going to go to Marble lake the night before, I want to remind you that there are Motels in the area of Wamplers Lake. Some in Brooklyn and there are units at the Stagecoach stop. I believe there is info regarding them on the Michigan hot boat site. I hope to see a big turnout this year at the Wamplers Lake meet just like you like to see a big turnout at your favorite lake. See you there. Chet and Scott.

Excactly Chet, If people don't know, stagecoach is less than a mile from wamplers, and prolly 30-40 miles fram marble. Should be a perfect scenario for people that really want to go raise hell on fri. P.M. and then Wamplers on sat.

I guess I better keep it to myself that I'm a Ford guy only by default. That is the motor that came in the Sanger from the factory. I have no problem with Ford motors except all my Chevy parts I have layin' around from twin 700SC's in my Sunsation won't work on the 460.

Should be a great time and I'm gettin' pretty pumped about it. Hopefully the weather shapes up. My wife isn't big on riding in the Sanger so would I be better off leaving her at home or is it mostly just hangin' out at a sandbar all day.

I'll see if she is game to go. I know wading around in freezing azz water won't exactly get her excited. I gotta believe that water is still colder than chit!!!!!

Since I have never been there can anyone give me directions from Lansing to the boat launch that everyone uses at Wamplers. Don't want to drive around aimlessly.

Also is there any areas on the lake I need to watch out for? Don't want to find a sandbar or sunken island the hard way.

You'll be coming south on M127 and picking up I94 east at Jackson. You'll go east for a short distance, maybe 4 or 5 miles and M127 goes south again. Just south of Jackson it will become two lanes. Follow it till you come to US 12. Turn Left ( east ) on US 12 and follow it to M124. It will only go to the left and there is a flasher there. There will be a sign saying Walter J. Hayes State park. You go only a short dictance maybe 1 mile to the entrance to the park. You'll turn left into the park and follow the road until it ends at the ramp. Chet

Thanks for the directions guys. No motel info needed since I will only coming for Saturday. Looks like about an hour drive or less for me to get there. Man I'm gettin' so pumped about next weekend.
