Default Anyone Going? - August 14 Gladwin ( Smallwood Lake River Fest)

    Hey guys,

Wife is dragging me to a wedding reception up in Sebewaing on the weekend of August 14...and I see that you guys are having a run at Gladwin which appears to only be about 1.5 hours away.

Who is all going? I would love to drag my Avenger Jet up and meet up with some fellow hot-boat guys, since they are pretty scarce down in my neck of the woods in Central, IL.
Anything I need to know before attending...or any hot tips? My only caveat is that I have to be at the reception in Sebewaing at 4pm, so I would have to get on the water ASAP on Saturday to get the most out of it.

Any tips on places to stay around Gladwin?? Would probably stay there on Friday night.

    Thanks!
    Jeff

We never had a meet before at this lake so I'm not sure how is going to go down.

I made a call and here is the scoop !!! Launch is Lakelife Marina, 239 E 61
989-426-5750..Gary the owner will waive a 5 buck launch fee to MHB. His sister who owns the bar next door (Wooden Shoe) which also will allow us to use the sand beach and her ramp with no fees. They have a weekly mtg with the DNR....BRING YOUR ZOOMIES !!! we will not be bothered and welcomed with open arms!! There are 2 motels with in 2-3 blocks. White Star 2-108 m30..The other one is All Seasons on m61. I was told that White Star has better water pressure. Okay, that is the poop! show up!!

LOL..Tony I was shocked when he was telling me the scoop....He was telling me that a few boats running 1200hp w/dry exhaust...hhmmmm could be a new place to hang out? He also said it was 13 miles dam to dam. That they don't mind "hot passes" but kinda frown on lining up side to side...but it has been done. Also Gary wanted to talk to us about having a boat show there
