    Default Jet-a-Vator Question Illegial?

    Hi Everyone,

I am very new and looking at getting a Jet Boat really soon. I was talking to a guy this evening that said jet-a-vators are illegial. Is this true as part of my whole jet boat experience is I want to throw roosters when it is safe to but am not very up with all the laws in Michigan.

Does anyone know the do's and don't in Michigan. How about sound restrictions as the boat I am considering has water injected headers on a BBC and have seen the term zoomies thrown around.

Sorry for all the questions as I have always wanted a jet boat for 20 plus years and am ready to get one and honesty have alot to learn about them. Most of my boating time will be in Gladwin around Secord Lake

    Thanks,
    Tim

Thanks Yooper. I just figured out what zoomies are and I agree that I will keep the pipes. The pipes are bassetts and I think I will call them to see if I can get some baffles as the current owner lost them thru his moves.

As a side question, Is there alot of heat that radiates onto your back off of the pipes or does the water injection keep them cool enough where that is not an issue? The wife asked me this and I want to be prepared if you know what I mean LOL

    Thanks everyone

you don't feel the engine heat...but if you do, just put a little more throttle in it and you are pretty safe with the water cops w/water injected headers

Jet-o-vaters are not illegal, but most cops don't like them and they will issue a bullsh** ticket if want calling it a violation of the 100' rule or something else than can come up with.Yes there are noise restrictions and the same thing applies if you get one of "those" cops they will issue a ticket and that would make a bad day.

Tim, you don't need a boat to show up.. it is a great time to ask questions, look at equipment and find a "empty seat" in one of the boats. Also it will help you to choose your new boat... I think Wildfire has a boat for sale..but not sure. Everybody knows a boat for sale!!!

That's like the 20th time he's gone by today?"
